Victory Pushes Heat Record to 13-12
|
The Heat faced a stiff challenge from London pitcher Gavin Meyer, but persevered to claim a win at Hatchets Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. Meyer went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Matt Pahomes earned the win to go to 3-3. He allowed 2 earned runs on 14 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. With the win, Kelowna goes to 13-12, while the Monarchs fall to 13-12.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fifth inning. Facing London hurler Gavin Meyer, Willard Corrigan, who is tied for 9th in the LBL in home runs with 6, drew a walk. The Heat went on to win.
"We did a lot of things right," said Corrigan.
