Leprechauns Nudge Past Stars, 4-3
|
Despite a fine performance by catcher Marcos Camacho, the Arlington Stars lost to the Royal Oak Leprechauns, 4-3. Camacho was 3-3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win boosts the Leprechauns to 45-49. The loss puts the Stars at 46-48.
The decisive blow was delivered by Hector Alvarado in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Roman Dixon to win the game for Royal Oak. The home crowd went nuts.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Alvarado said.
