Gosselin, Heat Serve Up 7-4 Win
|
Wade Gosselin, who is tied for 6th in the LBL in triples with 1, had a 4-RBI night to help the Kelowna Heat down the Saskatoon Legends, 7-4. Don Mrazek picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 1-2. Alex Didkowsky closed it out for Kelowna, earning his 2nd save.
Kelowna took a 5-0 lead on Gosselin's 11th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Lou Penney in the top of the sixth, propelled Kelowna to the win.
Heat manager James McKeamish praised Gosselin after the game. "I keep telling everyone," he said, "'Don't go to sleep on this kid.'"
Kelowna, with the win, climbs to 4-17.
