Montreal Royales starter Conor Webb was in fine form against the Trois-Rivieres Saints at Eliminators Ballpark, leading his team to a 6-4 win. Charlie Lawton closed the door for Montreal, picking up his 8th save of the year. Trois-Rivieres's current losing streak is now 5 games.
Ron Pomerantz hit a 2-run double off Justin Carriere in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Royales in front, 5-4. In addition to the double, Pomerantz had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
In comments to the Montreal Daily News, Webb insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
