Multi-HR Day for Harrington as Monarchs Overpower Royales, 10-6
|
The London Monarchs knocked off the Montreal Royales, 10-6, at Eliminators Ballpark. Danny Harrington, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason London won. The left fielder hit 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Rich Wakeley got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 5 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings. The Monarchs, at 9-9, have now won 4 straight.
Harrington had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch changeup from Brayden Irwin, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Monarchs a 5-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Harrington.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Harrington told the London News. "It's as simple as that."
