Buell 4-for-4 as Stars Squeeze Past Saskatoon
|
The Niagara Stars beat the Saskatoon Legends, 6-5, in part because of center fielder Ed Buell. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win lifted the Niagara record to 13-3.
With Niagara leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Buell hit a changeup from Jimmy Downey for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Stars ahead, 3-0.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Saskatoon manager Tewolde Ojo. "The effort was great."
