The Victoria Capitals routed the London Monarchs, 17-1, at Hatchets Ballpark. Steve Hamilton was one of the hitting stars. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. Victoria used a clutch at-bat from Rudolph Girton to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Capitals ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said London manager Lúcio Sánchez. "They knocked us on our cans."
