The Texas Longhorns beat the California Golden Bears, 9-1, at Ballpark of Celebration College. Texas shortstop Jesus Hermosillo earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Texas is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Texas took a 2-1 lead on John Parton's 3rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Parton hit in the bottom of the seventh, left California pitcher Matt Sutton shaking his head.

"We looked pretty good up and down," said Texas manager Teh-huai Thum.
