|
Alex Arias was outstanding against Santa Clara. The right-hander, who is tied for 4th in the TLA with a 1.16 WHIP, had a splitter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Falcons 7-2 win. Arias, now 8-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 11, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. River Falls is now 45-40. Santa Clara is 45-41.
Jose Mendoza took Santa Clara hurler Rodolfo Loa deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Falcons on top, 2-0. In all, Mendoza had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
