Rattlers Fall Short, 9-8, at Victoria
The Victoria Cougars managed to get by the Mojave Rattlers, 9-8, at Cougars Park. Victoria third baseman Edwin Dunse set himself apart with his performance. Edgar Figueroa earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 4.1 innings. His record is now 4-0. The win puts Victoria at 54-30 this season.

Victoria left fielder Juan Gallegos contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 82nd hit of the season and put the Cougars ahead, 8-6.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Victoria manager Tony Varela.
