The Vanderbilt Commodores beat the Ohio State Buckeyes, 6-4, at Ballpark of Bloomfield College. The Commodores got a fine performance from pinch hitter Aaron Brown, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Vanderbilt reliever Alan Sheffield picked up the win to move to 2-1. Daniel Woodard suffered the loss. Ohio State has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Brown's key contribution came in the top of the ninth when he sent a first pitch slider into right for a 3-run home run. It put the Commodores ahead, 6-3.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Brown said.
