Berzins slugs 2 home runs, Cougars Move to 28-16
|
The Houston Cougars relied on the hitting of second baseman Gabe Berzins to stop the Cal State Fullerton Titans, 6-5. For the game, Berzins went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Earning his 10th save for Houston was John Hopson. The Cougars bumped their record to 28-16 with this latest triumph.
Houston relied on the hitting of Jesse Lausier to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cougars on top, 6-5. For the game, Lausier had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
