Media Luna Gets Another L
|
The Thunderbirds grabbed a win, 4-3, at LoanDepot Park, overcoming a fine effort from Media Luna pitcher Miguel Perez. Perez went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Chad Matheny came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The misery continues for the Marlins, who have now dropped 25 in a row.
Surrey used the timely hitting of Johnny Magana to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I've never been a good loser," admitted losing manager Victor Garro, before walking out on reporters.
