Richardson Helps South Illinois Cruise to 13-2 Win
The South Illinois Salukis dealt the Alabama Crimson Tide a 13-2 loss at Field of the Shield. Ryan Richardson was the star on offense. He went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Jim Brown finished the game for South Illinois and earned his 1st save. South Illinois is now 19-24, Alabama 17-26.

Richardson came through with some timely hitting for South Illinois. With the score 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth and two down, Richardson hit a 1-2 fastball for a bases-clearing triple. His 2nd triple of the season made it 4-1, South Illinois.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Alabama manager Craig Lindley. "We got flat-out beat."
