Golden Bears Mow Down Aggies, 10-2
|
The California Golden Bears defeated the Texas A&M Aggies, 10-2, at Prisoners Ballpark today. Leading the charge for California was right fielder Eric Carr. He was 1 for 3 with a triple and 3 walks. He scored 3 times. Ron Chmiel got the win, improving to 1-4. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 2 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 4. With the win over Texas A&M, the Golden Bears improved to 21-22.
California center fielder Josh Oswald staked his team to an early lead in the bottom of the second inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run with the bases loaded.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Kirk Hill.
