The Tar Heels had to overcome a good performance from Georgia Tech pitcher Drew Bredeson to claim a 4-2 win at Castles Ballpark. Bredeson went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. The Tar Heels bumped their record to 22-21 with this latest triumph.

North Carolina used the timely hitting of T.J. Sims to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tar Heels on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said North Carolina manager Calogero Bardelli. "It's usually not just one thing."
