Taylor hits 2 home runs to Ignite Golden Bears Offense
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Chris Taylor, the California Golden Bears defeated the Houston Cougars, 18-5. Taylor went 2-2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 4 runs and drove in 5 for the Golden Bears. Matt Dingman, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. California bumps their record to 20-22 with the win.
Making an impact for the home team was Skylar Walsh. In the bottom of the fifth, the 21-year old third baseman had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 6-4, Golden Bears.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said California skipper Caiden Greenshield.
