Casebolt goes 3-for-3, Bulldogs Move to 32-10
|
The Fresno State Bulldogs downed the Long Beach State 49'ers, 10-4, at Brooks College Grounds. The Bulldogs were led by Grant Casebolt, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 3 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Chris Grover got the win, improving to 6-1. He held the 49'ers to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. The Bulldogs improved to a lofty 32-10.
Casebolt contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for Fresno State in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Casebolt took a fastball from Mike Van Horn and stroked the triple to right-center. His 1st triple of the season allowed the Bulldogs to leap in front, 5-3.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Casebolt.
