Volunteers Get Better of Buckeyes, 7-1
|
In the 7-1 Tennessee win over Ohio State, the impact of Jaheim Sewell was substantial. Sewell, who is tied for 3rd in the SBL with a .546 on-base percentage, was 2-4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Tennessee pitcher Jimmy Weber got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Matt Russell got the loss. Tennessee has a record of 25-17, placing them 8th in the Ron Fraser Division.
Sewell had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Matt Russell, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Volunteers a 3-1 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Sewell.
"Let's just say I'm happy we won," said Sewell. "There are a lot of people in the clubhouse who like to whine too much when we lose."
