The Virginia Cavaliers knocked off the Alabama Crimson Tide, 5-3, in Skip Bertman League action at Ballpark of Redwood College. Virginia pitcher and Chalco, Mexico, native Victor Reyes had an outstanding performance. Nick Moody snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-1 on the season. Dave Warren suffered the loss. Doug Decker was credited with the save for Virginia, his 5th of the season.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when Cavaliers right fielder Dave Medrano hit a fastball from Dave Warren for a 2-run single. Just like that, Virginia was up, 4-3.

"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Reyes.

The defeat makes Alabama 16-25.
