Joe Bean, who is tied for 4th in the TLA in innings pitched with 111.1, propelled his team to victory over the Brighton Steelhounds. The final score was 6-4, Aiken. Bean got the win, improving to 11-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Getting the save was Alex Charco, his 13th.
The Thoroughbreds benefited from a costly error in the top of the ninth. With Chris Overdorf at bat and Aiken leading 4-2, the Brighton miscue allowed Aiken to plate 2 and take the lead, 6-2.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Aiken manager Bobby Hobbs.
Aiken, at 60-16, is cruising.
