Cougars Earn Win with Late Rally
The Houston Cougars cut down the Texas Longhorns by the score of 12-11 in 10 innings. Much of the credit went to center fielder Jose Vasquez. Vasquez went 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Cougars. Earning his 1st save for Houston was Gary Cannon. The 18th-place Cougars improved to 17-23.

Houston took advantage of an error in the top of the tenth inning. The game was tied, 10-10, when Francisco Cortez hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Cougars in front, 11-10.

"Crazy game," said Vasquez after it ended.
