Hits Galore: Silva Drills 5 Hits
Even as a kid, German Silva said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Surrey Field, Silva showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 23-year-old center fielder had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Toronto Blue Jays, helping his team knock off the Surrey Thunderbirds by a score of 8-7.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."

German Silva singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

In this current campaign Silva is hitting at a .451 clip with 7 home runs and 56 RBIs.
