In a low-scoring game between the Aiken Thoroughbreds and the Arlington Stars, pitcher Jeong Shin was masterful on the mound. The Aiken left-hander spearheaded his team's 3-1 win. The Thoroughbreds now have a record of 58-15 with the win over Arlington.

The decisive blow was delivered by Malachi Wichert in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Toshio Hirose to win the game for Aiken. The home crowd went nuts.

"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Shin. "And vice-versa."
