California and Tulane exchanged punches and in the end the Golden Bears won the slugfest.

The California Golden Bears topped the Tulane Green Wave, 15-12, in Rod Dedeaux League action at Berthoud College Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of California second baseman Travis Travis. California reliever Ted Tyler picked up the win, raising his record to 1-2. Jon Ibbotson was tagged with the loss.

California took advantage of an error in the top of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 11-11, when Chris May hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Golden Bears in front, 13-11.

"We'll pocket this win," said May, "and then go after another."

The Golden Bears move to 18-21 with the win, while the Green Wave drop to 21-18.
