Waugh Hits Two Dingers, Blue Jays Win, 8-2

Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Ben Waugh, who leads the TLA in extra base hits with 66, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Arlington Stars, 8-2. Alex Colon, credited with the win, is now 5-0. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 9 innings. The first-place Blue Jays improved to 65-7.
With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Armando Ortiz had a game-changing hit. The Blue Jays right fielder slammed a run-scoring single off Danny Dominguez, making the score 4-2, Toronto.
"This is a very good team," said Ortiz. "We have the chance to do something special."
