Elijah Tapps did a number on the Longhorns in the 25-5 South Mississippi victory -- and the number was 5. The Golden Eagles catcher banged out 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Ballpark of Storm Lake College to lead his club past the Texas Longhorns.

"I felt good in the batter's box," he said. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done."

Elijah Tapps hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Cesar Rueda in the 5th, walked in a run in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
