Blue Jays Pull Out Late Win, 4-3
|
Toronto Blue Jays starter Kyle Phillips found his groove in his team's 4-3 win over the Arlington Stars. The Blue Jays, at 64-7, have a comfortable 23½-game lead in their division.
Had Ken Currie not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Currie hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Blue Jays.
"Kyle pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Toronto manager Bryan Fulcher.
