Ragin Cajuns Beat Owls, 6-4
|
Ragin Cajuns left fielder Dave Robertson put his stamp on his team's 6-4 win over the Rice Owls. Robertson was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs for Louisiana-Layfayette in the contest. John Cammisa picked up the save for Louisiana-Layfayette, his 6th of the year. Louisiana-Layfayette is 18-20 and Rice, with the loss, 13-25.
Chris Santiago had a big 2-run home run for the Ragin Cajuns in the top of the first inning. With Louisiana-Layfayette leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a sinker from Frank Peterson and stroked the home run to left. It was his 11th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ragin Cajuns ahead, 3-0.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Robertson. "I think we showed that here."
