Tigers Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Auburn Tigers topped the Wake Forest Demon Deacans, 7-6, in 10 innings. Auburn first baseman Brandon Fuller, in particular, was impressive. He went 5-6 with 3 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win went to Mickey Fink in relief, making him now 2-2. Caleb Steinberg took the loss for Wake Forest. The Tigers move to 18-20 with the win, while the Demon Deacans drop to 13-25.
The Tigers got a clutch hit from shortstop Mike Riggs. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right-center, to win the game for the Tigers.
Riggs said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
