The Aiken Thoroughbreds withstood a good performance by Tulsa designated hitter Scott Godwin to knock off Tulsa, 9-8, in 13 innings. Godwin went 4 for 6 with a home run, 3 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Taichi Kimura in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Danny Porras took the loss. Aiken is now 55-14, while Tulsa is 36-34.

Aiken needed the clutch hitting of Malachi Wichert to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Thoroughbreds on top, 9-8. For the game, Wichert had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
