Volunteers Come Up Short at Indiana State
|
The Indiana State Sycamores handed the Tennessee Volunteers a loss at Pit Vipers Ballpark. The final score was 6-5. Brett Weese was named player of the game for Indiana State. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Wade DesMarais earned the save, his 8th, for the Sycamores. The 4th-place Sycamores now have a win-loss record of 19-17.
Weese came through with some timely hitting for Indiana State. With the score 0-0 in the bottom of the fourth and one down, Weese hit a full count fastball for a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 2-0, Indiana State.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Tennessee manager Bradley Else. "The effort was great."
