Loss Diminishes Fine Performance by Rehm
Despite a great performance by Mississippi State second baseman Pat Rehm, the Arizona Wildcats defeated the Bulldogs by the score of 13-4 at Crowley College Grounds. Rehm hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Arizona reliever Nate Ward got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Bob Redden was tagged with the loss. Arizona is now 20-16, Mississippi State 20-16.

Arizona used a clutch at-bat from Drew Buxton to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Wildcats ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I had a good game," said Buxton. "Winning makes it even better."
