3-2 Win Takes Maulers to 35-30
|
Martinsburg beat Victory Lakes in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Victory Lakes Crawfish were defeated, 3-2, by the Martinsburg Maulers at Maulers Park, even though Xavier Speller pitched well for Victory Lakes. Martinsburg reliever Jorge Arias, who is tied for 6th in the RLA in holds with 4, was credited with the win. His record goes to 5-5. Xavier Speller took the loss for Victory Lakes.
Bill Navarro, who leads the RLA in triples with 8, aided the Martinsburg cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the third. For the game, the first baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"Tough loss," said Victory Lakes manager Sam Reynolds. "But that's how the cookie crumbles."
Martinsburg is now 35-30.
