Texas first baseman Juan Cordero had a good game, even if his team did not. The Longhorns dropped a 7-6 decision to Oregon at Crunch Ballpark. Cordero went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Oregon pitcher Joel Works got the win. He's now 1-3. George Brewer was tagged with the loss. Josh Nauman sewed up the save, his 6th.

Ray Bracken helped out the Oregon cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder went 1-3 with 2 walks.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Bracken said.

The 20th-place Ducks are now 14-21, the Longhorns 14-21.
