The performance of Jason Dahl proved critical in helping LSU beat Fresno State, 6-3. The Tigers first baseman went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. The winner was LSU reliever Pete DeVoll, now 2-1. The loser was William Wade. The last-place Tigers improved to 7-28.

It could have been a different outcome for LSU, had it not been for Billy Andrew, the 20-year old second baseman . Andrew contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put LSU up, 2-0.
