Victory Over Thunderbirds Takes Aiken to 51-11
Spirited fans greeted the Surrey Thunderbirds for their clash with the Aiken Thoroughbreds.

The Aiken Thoroughbreds tallied a win at Surrey Field, throttling the Surrey Thunderbirds, 7-2. Starting pitcher Carlos Loera was a big reason for his team's success. The winning pitcher was Loera, now 10-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 11.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jerry Lasso? The Aiken shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Thoroughbreds on top, 3-2. For the game, Lasso had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Surrey skipper John Griffin.
