Golden Eagles Beat Green Wave, 9-8
Bobby Rawls did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Tulane Green Wave from being beaten, 9-8, to the South Mississippi Golden Eagles at Ballpark of Storm Lake College. Rawls was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. South Mississippi pitcher Chad Kern got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Chris Knotts got the loss. Earl Knott wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.

Paul Griffith, who is tied for 7th in the RDL with a .854 slugging percentage, aided the South Mississippi cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Griffith told the South Mississippi Bulletin.

South Mississippi raised its record to 21-13 with the win.
