Kingston Charts 5-2 Win Over Victory Lakes
|
Victory Lakes got a terrific performance from pitcher Nelson Huete, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kingston Beats. Kingston won the Crawfish Grounds contest, 5-2. Huete threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Ricky Mora got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The save was credited to Diego Alanis, his 19th.
Julian Porter came through with a big-time hit for Kingston. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Kingston manager Jonathan Weiss called it "a good, solid win."
The loss makes Victory Lakes 38-23.
