Martinsburg Nets 11-10 Win Versus Falcons
The Martinsburg Maulers overcame a pretty good performance by River Falls designated hitter Ray Romero, beating the Falcons, 11-10, at Falcons Field. Romero went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Juan Marquez closed the door for Martinsburg, picking up his 4th save of the year. The 'W' lifts Martinsburg's record to 34-27.

Martinsburg used the clutch hitting of Paul Kirkpatrick to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Maulers ahead, 11-9. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.

"Both teams had plenty of clutch hits," said Kirkpatrick. "It made for an exciting game."
