Pieters, Wolverines Fall to Sycamores
The Indiana State Sycamores besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Michigan third baseman Adam Pieters by beating the Wolverines, 10-6, at Pit Vipers Ballpark. Pieters hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The win belonged to Kyle Mangan in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jake Barbarino took the loss for Michigan. Joe Gleason earned the save, his 1st, for the Sycamores.

Making an impact for Indiana State was shortstop Mike Capps. Mad Jack drilled a run-scoring double off Jake Barbarino in the bottom of the second. For the game, Capps was 2-3 with a double and a walk.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Capps told the Indiana State Gazette.

At 17-16, the Sycamores claim 12th place in the Ron Fraser Division.
