Oliva Helps Thunderbirds Run Win Streak to 7
No one was more impactful than Alex Oliva in the 7-3 Surrey win over Bloomington. Oliva, who is tied for 2nd in the RLA in bases on balls with 86, was 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Bobby Isbell picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-2. He struck out 8 in 7.1 innings. The Thunderbirds, at 42-18, have now won 7 straight.

Surrey used a clutch at-bat from David Derbyshire to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Thunderbirds ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Oliva after the game.
