The Long Beach State 49'ers grabbed a win, 8-5, over the Arizona State Sun Devils at Ballpark of Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley College. Long Beach State first baseman Mike Brinker went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Chris Fox got credit for the save for Long Beach State. It was his 2nd of the year.

Eric Mahood had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the third for Long Beach State. With the bases loaded and the 49'ers leading 3-2, he hit a sacrifice fly.
