Neff Lifts Beavers to 19-5 Triumph
The Oregon State Beavers grabbed a win, 19-5, over the LSU Tigers at Palisades Ballpark. Oregon State second baseman Eli Neff went 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Joey Virgona got credit for the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 6.2 innings. Oregon State now sits at 19-14, while LSU falls to 6-27.

Salvatore Gutierrez had a big 2-run home run for the Beavers in the bottom of the first inning. With Oregon State leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Jesus Cintron and swatted a home run to right. It was his 10th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beavers ahead, 3-0.

"I'm just out there trying to have as much fun as I can while I'm playing," Neff told the Oregon State Herald.
