Houston Beats Oregon in 10-Inning Thriller
The Houston-Oregon matchup turned into a real hit parade.

The Houston Cougars outlasted Ray Bracken and the Oregon Ducks, 13-11, in 10 innings. Bracken was impressive in the loss. The Oregon left fielder was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. By defeating Oregon, the 20th-place Cougars improved to 13-20.

Houston needed the clutch hitting of Francisco Cortez to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Cougars on top, 12-11. For the game, Cortez had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

In postgame remarks, Cortez simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
