Pipers Beat Saint John, 4-3
The San Carlos Pipers picked up a win at Pipers Grove, knocking off the Saint John Alpines, 4-3. Starting pitcher Rod Romero was a big reason why. The win went to Jose Hinojosa in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Toshihiro Otake took the loss. The 5th-place Pipers go to 12-45.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when San Carlos second baseman Ruben Ayala, facing Toshihiro Otake, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Pipers the 4-3 win.

"Rod was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said San Carlos manager Eddie Garcia.
