McAndrew slugs 2 home runs as Sycamores Squeeze Past South Carolina
The Indiana State Sycamores handed the South Carolina Gamecocks a loss at Pit Vipers Ballpark. The final score was 12-11. Dan McAndrew was named player of the game for Indiana State. In addition to his 1 single and 2 home runs, he scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Indiana State reliever Zach Cowan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Mike Rinehart absorbed the loss. Wade DesMarais sewed up the save, his 7th.

McAndrew had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 cutter from Mike Rinehart, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Sycamores a 12-11 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for McAndrew.

South Carolina manager Armando Ángel said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."

With the win, the Sycamores have a record of 16-16.
