Oliva Excels, Surrey Blows Out Cuautitlan Izcalli
|
The Surrey Thunderbirds got production up and down the lineup while beating the Cuautitlan Izcalli Atlantics, 23-3. One standout was designated hitter Alex Oliva. Oliva, who is tied for 2nd in the RLA in runs scored with 61, was 4 for 7 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 6. The misery continues for the Atlantics, who have now dropped 10 in a row.
Surrey used the hitting of Angel Sanabria to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 2-0. For the game, Sanabria had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Same old, same old, unfortunately," said losing manager Javier Medina.
