Schuessler Lifts Owls to 14-10 Triumph
The Rice Owls beat the California Golden Bears, 14-10, at Prisoners Ballpark. The win was due in part to left fielder Mike Schuessler, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and 4 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. With the victory, the Owls record stands at 14-17.

In the top of the first, Bob Ferreira ambushed a first pitch fastball from Armando Gimenez and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Rice a quick 2-0 lead.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Ferreira said after the game.
