Sycamores Shut Out Yellow Jackets
|
Indiana State pitcher Dan Wolery did his part in helping his team beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 4-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Wolery got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 2 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. Wolery allowed no earned runs. With the win, the Sycamores have a record of 15-16.
Kevin Akers had a productive at-bat for the Sycamores with no one out in the top of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the right fielder hit a run-scoring double. The at-bat was important in the Indiana State win.
"Dan's tempo and rhythm were good," said Sycamores manager Isei Azuma. "He was the key to us winning."
